YOUNG GUNS

I am proud to announce that a new unit has been formed within the Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. The name of our unit is “The Young Guns”. We are a group of members 45 and younger who wish to build an environment in our Shrine that will create an interest in the center and will provide an atmosphere where the Young Shriners will feel that they can enjoy themselves. This includes activities that will involve and focus around the entire family. We hope that this will also help to increase membership in Masonry and the Shrine. Our slogan for the unit will be “We play so children may” and we do take this to heart.

Our unit was formed on January 25, 2008 and a total of 16 new members were present. The elected officers for 2008 are:

President – Joe Behounek (Lady Tammy)

Vice President – Keith Henry (Lady Amanda)

Secretary – Dave Berman

Treasurer – Jeff Ockerman (Lady Naomi)

Board Members – Jeff Carlile (Lady Jennifer)

                              Richard Cullen (Lady Catherine)

                               Steve Gough (Lady Kathy)

We would like to thank all of you for your support and will appreciate your input and encouragement. A special thanks goes to our Illustrious Potentate Bill Broughall, Recorder John Blumenthal and Chief Rabban Lonnie Hedrick for entrusting us with this task and backing us 100%.

We would like to encourage all Young Shriners and their Ladies to attend our next meeting February 29, 2008 at 6:30PM in the Fez Club and join us in our endeavors. Jennifer Carlile will provide a great French Dip for dinner.
