 Lonnie was raised in the Espanola Valley,  He graduated from Espanola High   School in 1966 and began studying at Northern NM Community College.  He joined the Navy in 1967 and was stationed on the Destroyer USS Buck in Southeast Asia, serving four tours of duty in Vietnam on the USS Buck.  He was honorably discharged from the navy in 1971.

 

Lonnie and Margaret were married in 1970 and have raised the family of two children.  Their daughter Pamela has given them two loving grandchildren – Lonnie Jared and Samantha Jade. They also raised a son, Lonnie Jr., who passed away in 1989.

Lonnie began his career with the US Postal Service when he returned to home from Vietnam.  He was with the Postal Service for 31 years before retiring in 2003.  During his career he was Administrator of Vehicle operations and maintenance for 9 of his 31 years, and was Payroll Officer for 21 years.  He also elected as President of the Postal Worker Union #422 for two years.

Lonnie's Masonic travels began at the age of 16 in Espanola as a DeMolay. He has spent a life time in the Masonic Bodies.  He is a Past Master of Espanola Valley Lodge #68 in Espanola.  Both he and Margaret have been active in the Order of Eastern Star holding offices as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron in Valley Chapter #69 and Santa Fe #19 Order of Eastern Star.  Margaret has served as a Grand Officer and a Grand Representative.  She is also an active member of the Daughters of the Nile where she now holds the office of Marshal.

He is a member of the Santa Fe Bodies of the Scottish Rite and Ballut Abyad Shrine.  He has served a President of the Santa Fez Shrine Club and spent 12 years as the Santa Fe Circus Chairman. He is also a member of the Espanola Shrine Club, and the Tri Rodders.  And after all of that he still wants to serve Ballut Abyad Temple, and was appointed into the Divan by PP Bill Mandly in 2003.

Lonnie and Margaret have been very active in numerous community services, coaching Little League Baseball, Young American Football, Partner’s in Education, Esperanza Women’ Shelter and The Salvation Army. Lonnie still maintains his membership on the VFW, American Legion, and the Disabled Veterans of Foreign Wars.

We the Nobility are so fortunate to have Lonnie and Margaret, with these proven distinguished leadership abilities, sharing us their time and their talents .
