Larry Bennett, Treasurer and Lady Kaye
Larry has a long career in the Masonic Order having been a DeMolay and serving as Master Councilor in 1951. He became a Master Mason 50 years ago in Temple Lodge #6.
Larry is a Veteran having served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict as a Combat Crewman flying off carriers in the S2F. After he completed his enlistment in the Navy, he entered UNM where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1961. He was a two year letterman in baseball while at UNM, but the ultimate of his success at college was meeting and marrying Kaye Martin. Kaye also graduated from UNM with a degree in Fine Arts. She is most noted for her beautiful calligraphy compositions, which many of us have enjoyed.
After graduation they traveled extensively across western United States from California to Louisiana with a lengthy stop in El Paso in his work as an Electrical Engineer. Larry also held a Masters Electricians License in 3 states . They returned to Albuquerque in 1979, where Larry was President of Jet Con Construction, a division of Gardner Zemke Electrical Contractors. Jet Con was a major electrical construction company specializing in large electrical sub stations and air port lighting systems. He retired from Gardner Zemke in 1997.
He joined Ballut Abyad Temple in 1984, and immediately went to work in the Azayim for Paul Arnold, and today he and Kaye still work with the Azayim. They served as Temple Aids for several years and as Assistant Chief Aid in 1988. He is a member of the Patrol having served as both President in 1991 and Captain in 1993 & 94. He was elected as Treasurer in 1998 and has held this position in our Temple now for 10 years. His commitment is to do a serviceable job for the Nobility looking after their finances as their representative in his position as Treasurer.
Oh! and when he has time he plays a little golf and is President of BASGA.
Larry and Kaye have two daughters and two grandchildren of whom they are most proud.
