Miss Maggie
Margaret C. "Maggie" Rothmeyer Cremer, Our Ballut Abyad Shrine Office Manager, was born March 27th in Calmar, Iowa a small northeastern Iowa town, where she, played Girls Varsity Basketball for four years. She was named an Iowa All State Post Forward .... She had a 69 point game (a current record in Iowa) at South Winn high School and averaged 35 points per game in her Junior year. She played Cornet in the Band, was in the Honor Society, attended Iowa Hawkeye Girls State, was Homecoming Queen, a Class Officer and graduated in 1961.
After
graduation, Maggie worked as a Secretary for Collins Radio Co. in Cedar Rapids.
She and Chuck were married in 1963 and moved to Phoenix.
Chuck was employed by Sperry Flight Systems Defense, and Maggie worked for the
Salt River Utility Co.. In 1981 Sperry offered Chuck an opportunity to come to
Albuquerque so they transferred here. He is now a Sales representative for
Quatra Associates in Air Defense Business. They have two lovely daughters, Juli
and Jacki.
In 1982 Howard Cole our Recorder hired Maggie to work part time. The Temple Office was then in the Temple Lodge #6 building on University Avenue. Maggie has made all the various moves with the Temple, first to the old Fez Club, then to Central Ave. in the old Tiki Ki facility, and finally to our Center on Zuni Avenue.
Over the past Twenty Six Years Maggie has worked with twenty six Potentates, and six different Recorders. The first Potentate she worked under was Ill. Hank Martin. Now you want to talk about a tough task ~ smoothing out those egos!!
Chuck confides to us that Maggie has taken up golf, but finds it a slightly more difficult that the left handed jump shot. He shares with us that Maggie loves her job and express she gratitude for having has so many great co-workers, Too, she speaks fondly of the many Shriners and their Ladies with whom she has become friends with through our the State in her twenty five years with the Shrine..
Miss Maggie is something very special in the hearts of the Nobility and their Ladies in New Mexico, and she is a wonderful complement to Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple.
Maggie, we congratulate you and we thank you for your Twenty Five years of service to Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple.
